The photograph
Stand 142
Photographed from the terminal at Lisbon Airport, this picture is as much about the geometry of the stand as about the aircraft itself. An airliner sits nosed in at stand 142, its jet bridge folded against the forward door, while a pushback tug waits on the left for the next departure.
Strong winter sunlight throws a deep shadow from the terminal across the concrete, so half the frame is dark and half is bright, crossed by orange safety markings. In the distance the airfield stretches towards the city, with other aircraft parked at remote stands.
A graphic, almost abstract airport scene that suits modern interiors. Offered in A4, the size the original file supports in full detail.
Photographed on 2 February 2023 at a focal length of 7 mm.
