The photograph
Through the flight-deck door
Passengers usually glimpse the flight deck only for a second while boarding. This photograph slows that moment down. Framed by the open door, the captain's seat sits in the foreground, the overhead panel is packed with switches and the instrument displays glow beneath the windscreen.
The edit is cool and almost monochrome, with only small notes of orange from warning labels and lights. The narrow vertical composition, with the door frame on either side, gives the image the feeling of looking into a private room.
A detailed, intimate print for anyone who loves the machinery of flight. No crew are shown. Offered in A4, the size the original file supports in full detail.
Photographed on 14 February 2023 at a focal length of 7 mm.
