Face to face

From €59

Supplied unframed. Open-edition photographic print, made to order. The same price applies to full bleed and white border.

An Airbus narrowbody taxiing straight towards the camera, with nose, cockpit and engines filling the frame in a cool, near-monochrome edit. Hard midday shadows and perfect symmetry turn the aircraft into sculpture.

The photograph

Face to face

This is the view a marshaller sees. An Airbus taxis directly towards the camera, its rounded nose and cockpit windows centred in the frame, the large engines pressing in from both edges and the nose gear planted on the centreline below.

The edit strips back almost all colour, leaving the aircraft in clean whites and silvers against the textured grey of the taxiway, with hard midday shadows beneath the wings. The effect is sculptural: the fuselage becomes a smooth form, the gear struts become lines.

Taxiway centreline photography requires a vantage point the aircraft will turn towards, and precise timing as it lines up. Here the nose wheel sits exactly on the axis of the frame, and the engines are cropped at the same point on both sides.

Two crew members are visible, very small, behind the windscreen. A confident, modern print that suits monochrome interiors, workspaces and anywhere a strong, centred composition is wanted.

Photographed on 16 August 2025 with a Sony α7R IIIA at a focal length of 600 mm.
