Above the cloud deck
This is the view from a window seat, made into a picture. The wing of an airliner stretches diagonally up the frame, its walkway markings, arrow and stencilled lettering crisp in the foreground, while the leading edge catches a band of blue reflection from the sky.
Below lies an unbroken deck of white cloud, and above, a deep blue sky streaked with high, wind-blown cirrus. The photograph was made in flight over south-eastern Brazil, somewhere between departure and arrival, in the quiet part of the journey.
