Citation under starlight
The Cessna Citation CJ3 is a small aircraft, but here it is given a stage worthy of something far larger. Three floodlights behind and above it flare into crisp eight-pointed stars, while the jet itself, registration CS-DGW, sits on the apron with its airstair door lowered and an engine cover fitted for the night.
The warm apron light and deep black sky create a classic night-photography contrast. Thin cheatlines along the fuselage lead the eye from the T-tail to the nose, and a row of traffic cones in the foreground sets the scale. Another business jet's tail is just visible behind.
The CJ3 is a light business jet flown by small charter operators and private owners across Europe. Photographed from low on the apron with a moderate telephoto, it takes on a more imposing presence than its size would suggest, and the engine cover hints at a night's rest before the next flight.
It is a graceful, slightly nostalgic picture that sits well in an office or study, particularly for anyone with a connection to business or general aviation.
