A thin crescent moon hangs in a violet-to-orange afterglow above the nose of a Ryanair Boeing 737, its boarding stairs lit by the last of the sun. A vertical frame full of quiet colour.

Crescent over the stairs
Just after sunset the sky over the apron moved through every shade from deep violet to burning orange, and a fine crescent moon appeared directly above the stand. This portrait-format frame places the nose of a Ryanair Boeing 737 low in the composition, with the airline's integral boarding stairs angled across the foreground and a ground-handling container softly out of focus at the bottom edge.
The cockpit windows pick up the glow of the horizon, while the moon gives the image its point of stillness. Most of the frame is sky, which is why it works so well as a large print: the colour gradient is smooth and uninterrupted, and the aircraft becomes one element in a wider evening scene rather than the whole story.
A natural choice for a bedroom, reading corner or narrow wall where a portrait print is needed. The white-border layout frames the gradient beautifully; full bleed gives a more immersive colour field.
