The photograph
Marshalled in
Every arrival ends with a moment like this. At Florianópolis airport in southern Brazil, a marshaller in a high-visibility jacket raises two orange paddles as a Boeing 737 rolls onto its stand, a colleague walking beside him across the painted markings.
The aircraft sits perfectly on the centreline, engines either side, with the jet bridge waiting on the right. Behind, a wall of green mountains climbs into grey cloud and the control tower stands at the edge of the airfield, giving the scene a strong sense of place.
A human, story-filled print about the choreography of the ramp. The marshallers are seen from behind. Offered in A4 and A3+, the sizes the original phone capture supports in full detail.
Photographed on 25 May 2025 with a Xiaomi 14T Pro (phone).
