The photograph
Queen of the night
Standing beneath the nose of a Boeing 747-8 makes clear why the type earned its nickname, the Queen of the Skies. This Lufthansa jet fills the frame from the curve of its nose to the boarding stairs at the forward door, the famous hump of the upper deck rising towards the cockpit windows.
Above, storm clouds roll across a deep blue night sky, lit faintly from below. The airline's crane logo and the Star Alliance emblem stand out on the white fuselage, cabin windows glow warm, and a towbar lies ready on the concrete in front of the nose gear.
A dramatic, portrait-format tribute to the last generation of the 747. Offered in A4 and A3+.
